GE has been chosen by PGE Odnawialna to upgrade the Parabka Zar pumped hydro storage facility in Poland. The 500MW plant will have its four pumped turbines and generators replaced.
The four new units will start operations in the beginning of 2028, according to the company’s predictions.
The contract will be carried out under the GE Hydro Solutions unit, which will also be responsible for the replacement of existing stay rings and stay vanes. The new ones will be specifically designed for Porabka Zar.
Besides designing, GE Hydro Solutions will also conduct production and delivery of equipment, excitation, and governing systems.
